Boutique Hotels North Yorkshire – A luxurious escape to Five Star Stays near Scarborough

This post is in partnership with Five Star Stays, but all thoughts, opinions and photographs are as always, my own.
Even if you have never been to Yorkshire before, you will probably have a picture in your mind of what it’s like. Lush green hills, babbling brooks running through picture postcard villages and iconic harbour towns. The truth, it’s every bit as beautiful as every image you have ever seen of it. Yet somehow, it has managed to escape the attention of the masses – until now. Yorkshire is quickly becoming one of the most sought after holiday destinations in England.
Sandwiched between rugged moorland and the North Sea, the North Yorkshire Coast is one of the finest parts of the country. The wild landscape attracts those who want to escape for a walking holiday whilst the long stretches of golden beaches and picturesque harbours, lure those seeking a relaxing escape from the every day.

Nestled along the coast, on the outskirts of the ancient town of Scarborough, is the quaint village of Scalby. Here you can find residences in the Five Star Collection that have been luxuriously renovated, ready to provide the perfect Yorkshire getaway. No. 38 High Street is deceiving from the outside. Walk through the front door of this unassuming property and you will find that it is more than you had dared expect. This generously accommodating house is aimed at catering for the ultimate family getaway and has your pleasure and entertainment in mind. It boasts a kitchen large enough to involve the whole family, a games room, a wonderful garden with a children’s climbing frame, four large bedrooms, a bath big enough for a romantic soak for two and ample dining areas ideal for lingering together with food, conversation and laughter at the table.
In the village you will find The Plough, a handsome pub adorned in flower baskets. Step inside and you will find more than just pub grub. Take a seat and you will be treated to a fabulous selection of modern British dishes from head chef Jon Smith, made using seasonal Yorkshire produce. The Yorkshire Tapas are not to be missed. If you’d prefer to eat in the house, a take away service is also available. The Yew Tree Cafe in the village also offers this service, with a delivery of the continental breakfast hamper being a great way to start the day.

Venture out into the surrounding area and you’ll find a wealth of Yorkshire’s most beautiful locations just a short drive away. From the iconic town of Whitby, famous for inspiring Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’, to lesser known villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay, Sandsend, Staithes, Thornton-le-Dale and Hutton-le-Hole. A popular pastime along this stretch of coast is fossil hunting and you will find Runswick Bay a fantastic place for finding your own ammonites to take home and treasure. However you choose to spend your time in North Yorkshire, you won’t be short of places to discover and the Five Star Collection will provide the perfect backdrop for those magical memories you’ll cherish for years to come.
