Renishaw Hall. An intricately beautiful house on the northern border of Derbyshire, sat perched overlooking the most wondrous Italianate gardens and a water lilly filled lake below. Renishaw Hall has been home to the Sitwell family for four centuries and is still lived in by the family to this day. The current owner is Alexandra Sitwell, daughter of the late Sir Reresby and Lady Sitwell. Passing into the hands of the female line, Renishaw Hall still belongs to the family but they have unfortunately not been able to hold on to the Baronetcy that came with it – something they are trying to reverse.
Renishaw Hall is one of those places I have always seen photographs of and marvelled at its beauty, but never actually gotten around to visiting. In August I finally changed that and visited twice within two weeks, needless to say it lived up to expectation and is a place I would highly recommend visiting.
