Garlic and Herb Baked Camembert

Heaven in a box!

This small French cheese is a little taste of perfection.

Baked Camembert is nothing short of luxury.

You’ll find many a gastro pub serving this decadent treat, but there’s no need to have to leave the house and venture out into the cold at this time of year to go in search or somewhere to enjoy this little beauty. Oh no! It is the simplest of simple recipes that requires absolutely no effort at all. Perfect for sharing with a couple of friends or family over a glass or two of wine as you enjoy the warmth and comfort of your own home.

And your loved ones will think you’re brilliant!


Molten, runny gooey French cheese..

Loaded with garlic and herbs..

Mopped up with crusty chunks of fresh bread..

What’s not to love?



It doesn’t come much better than this simple, rich indulgent feast.

This is my once a month treat to share with the sister and a bottle of wine.

Grab your loved ones, follow the recipe below and in 20 minutes time be sitting down to VERY appreciative faces!

You’ll need:

1 Camembert
2 cloves of garlic
Sprigs of rosemary
Sprigs of thyme
Maldon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 loaf of bread – something crusty
Extra Virgin olive oil

If you’ve got a Camembert baker that works best, but if not then you can use the box it comes in, all packaging removed, and wrapped in tin foil.



How to:

1. Remove all packaging from the cheese and place the cheese on a chopping board. Cut a hole into the top and remove this ‘lid’.

2. Stick the garlic cloves and rosemary sprigs into the body of the cheese, place the thyme on top, season with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil. Place the ‘lid’ back on top.

3. Place the cheese in your cheese baker or alternatively back into its box and wrap tightly in foil. Place the cheese into an oven at 180C/360F and bake for 15-20 minutes.

4. Remove from oven, place in front of your loved ones and watch as they merrily dunk their bread into this molten gooey goodness and ooh & ahh!
