‘Tis The Season For Mulled Wine

British Mulled Wine Recipe

There is nothing that says Christmas like mulled wine.

It is such a treat!

And it raises those winter spirits in the dank, cold months at the end of the year marvelously.

When you’re out in the cold it warms the cockles like no other. That said, it works equally well whilst cuddled up indoors by the fire.

I can’t resist the spiced tones that waft out of a pot on the stove. And why should I? It’s winter after all!

The use of all those winter spices.. cinnamon, cloves, all spice, star anise..make this drink feel like you are sipping on Christmas itself.

And it is so darned easy! Yes, there are millions of recipes out there on how to make the perfect mulled wine, but the truth is that you can’t really go wrong. Use whatever combination of spices you like, however these are the ones that I like to use.

This week has flown by in the glimpse of an eye. The busier my days get the more quickly they pass me by. Last Sunday we were supposed to go and do the bulk of our Christmas shopping, which turned into lets do it on Tuesday, which quickly became lets do it when we’re both off this Sunday. Thankfully, I’ve been a bit of an online shopper this year so I’ve gotten the bulk of what I need done! But it’s always nice to go into little shops and stumble across things you wouldn’t have thought of. So today we headed off with high hopes of getting the remainder of our shopping done..only to turn into wandering around and finding most of the smaller boutiques were closed, deciding to head off for lunch and then go Christmas tree shopping. This means, I now have my first ever real Christmas tree!! Something the cats are taking great joy in beating manically with their little paws. I’m sure I will get home from work one day this week to find it on its side on the floor…I’m waiting for it!

Sunday also means, only one week until the little sister moves back from Belfast to be home with us lot! She’s officially passed her nursing degree and it’s time to move back with us until she has decided where it is she’s going to be living. Dubai need nurses right?? Yes, I think that’s the right candidate!

Anyways, back to the important part..mulled wine!
