What better place for a pit stop than a cider farm to sample Cornish cider whilst in Cornwall??
Driving along the A3075 I spotted signs for Healey’s and we had to stop off quickly to poke our noses in. Instead, this turned out to be a full tour which took us around the two storey high cider vats, the bottling plant, the viewing platform, the distillery, cellars, tractor ride and tutored tasting of the drinks produced there.
After our tour we relaxed in the gardens with a cold pint of scrumpy with the company of some gorgeous hens and peacocks and on our way out we couldn’t resist taking a bottle home with us!
A great spot to spend a sunny afternoon, whether it be to get a glimpse of behind the scenes of cider manufacture or just to sit and sample some of the produce! Pretty good for children too with the mini farm (with pigs, a horse, ferrets..) or just giant kids like us because we still love animals too! So much so that we had to take another detour via Adam’s rare breed farm and feed the goats and lambs! More on that one later!
